Lytham Juniors v's Foxhall U12's Match Report

Sunday 30th November at Lytham Juniors

Lytham 2 – Foxhall 3

Lytham lacked the confidence they have displayed in previous games and today struggled throughout to stamp their authority on the game. Lytham’s keeper Cori Ward was put under pressure at the beginning of the match by Foxhalls deadly strikers and it was Foxhall to took the first. Man of the match Harry Greenwood and Ryan Robinson worked hard in mid field and eventually found a break in Foxhalls defence to send Brandon Matthews into the penalty area, calmly knocking it over the Foxhalls keeper to equal the score. After several attempts at goal Billy McLean’s hard work was rewarded when a Greenwood, Robinson attack gave Mclean the opportunity to put Lytham in the lead.
Following the break it was Foxhall who had fought hardest and equalised from a defencive blunder by Lytham. Foxhall were awarded a penalty which was saved by keeper Ward only to see another go past him several minutes later by another defensive blunder. In the dying minutes Matt McGreehin challenged the Foxhall defence but failed to make his mark and the final whistle blew leaving Lytham reeling from their loses.
