This was a game that both teams wanted to win in order to pull away from the bottom of the table. In a scrappy start it was the home team who created the first chance but they failed to score. Lytham could not get their game going but managed to take the lead when Josh Tindall latched on to a loose ball and calmly beat the home goalkeeper. Dan Martin at full back was providing help in attack and Jack Saunders and Richard Atherton started to come to their own in midfield. However a defensive mistake from Lytham allowed the home side a chance from which they equalised. Lytham quickly regained the lead when man of the match Josh Tindall scored his second. Yet again Lytham made an error and the home side levelled just before the break.
Half time: South Shore 2 Lytham 2
Lytham started the second half well with Matty Rhodes and Oliver Hall looking to create chances and Sonny Coates, Siraj Dail and Lewis Evans playing well in defence. They allowed the home side very few chances and Joe Belshaw in the Lytham goal was having another good game. Adam Murphy in midfield provided good support for the away defence. Lytham took a deserved lead when Kyle McCullough beat the home goalkeeper with a good finish. The home side looked to get an equaliser but Lytham worked hard to deny them any chances and won the game 3 – 2.
