Lytham produced a good overall team performance today against a determined BJFF side. Against the run of play Lytham found themselves a goal down when a pass split the Lytham defence and the BJFF attacker finished well. Lytham continued to press for the equaliser and eventually that resulted in Billy McClean finishing well to make it 1-1 at half-time.
The second-half saw Lytham continue to take control of the game. BJFF still made a fight of it at times but Lytham pressed forward and matched the home side all over the park. Just as the game looked to be heading for a draw, Lytham were awarded a free-kick and ironically just like last season in the same fixture Harry Greenwood produced a stunning strike from distance to give Lytham a well deserved victory.
Lads…..today proved that you are more than a match for any side who are physically bigger than you are….when you play your passing game….well done!! Best of luck to BJFF for the rest of their season.
